I have been going to Wawu Warriors for just under a year and it’s the best decision I ever made. I am the fittest and strongest I have ever been. Finally can do a full press up which I’ve been trying for 45 years. She is very supportive, makes suggestions and willingly changes exercises to suit your needs. At her new gym in Mossman it is fabulous, the group of girls are so supportive and friendly, highlight of my week is seeing their faces at the circuit.

Almost 2 years ago I started training at Wawu Warriors Women Boxing classes twice a week and then as I got fitter I added a weekly sparring class. I now train 4 times a week doing the 12RND Circuit classes plus a weekly boxing class as well as a Wellness (strength and mobility) class to keep me mobile and flexible throughout my joints and muscles. My family and friends know that over the years I have been known to wear extra knee and ankle guards whilst playing my sport which I now know has hindered my ability to develop strength for rehab. Since training at WWoF under the guidance of Julie I don’t wear my guards anymore as my specialised program have been adapted to rehabbing my knees for functional movements. I was also at a point that I was taking 3 nuerophen almost everyday because of the aches and pains, but now I get through it, go home and apply what Julie has taught us in the Wellness class.

This testimonial is hard to write because I could honestly write pages about how wonderful Julie is. But I will do my best to keep it brief and outline some of her most fabulous skills. She has an innate ability to know when you need a kick up the butt or a quiet word of encouragement. She makes everyone feel welcome despite their goals, fitness levels, age, injuries. She is dedicated to helping every single person and goes above and beyond any level of commitment I have ever seen from a trainer, even sends your workouts when you are on holidays (ok this could be a bad day thing). She is technique focused, making everyone feel like a pro weightlifter, boxer, runner. Her level of enthusiasm is infectious. She isn’t offended when we swear at her at the mention of burpees. Julie is an all round fabulous human being and I feel extremely fortunate to have her as a trainer and friend.
